PolyCard Campus Recard Initiative - Spring 2005

Effective June 1, 2005 all new students, staff and faculty to Cal Poly will receive the new PolyCard design, which no longer has an embedded Social Security number. To comply with California legislation (SB25 and AB3016) and CSU Chancellor’s Office directive (HR-2005-07), Cal Poly is no longer permitted to use a magnetically encoded social security number on the campus identification card (PolyCard) after June 30, 2005.

To meet this requirement and schedule, Cal Poly’s PolyCard Office is embarking on a campus-wide initiative designed to replace all existing cards with a new PolyCard that does not use a magnetically encoded social security number for identification purposes

Effective June 1, 2005 the PolyCard will have revised text as indicated below. Adjustments will be made to the printed text on the front of the PolyCard to enhance readability and incorporate new functionality. The card design will be completed in early May and posted as soon as available.
